Overview
UL Web is a web design project that incorporated Augmented Reality based experiences of a few popular places on the University of Limerick campus. The final website is hosted on GitHub and was part of an Academic project carried out during my Master's in Interaction and Experience Design.
Goals and use cases
The primary goal of this project was to create an interactive Augmented Reality based experience of a few elements of the University of Limerick campus. This combined with other elements could become part of a more interactive brochure or prospectus and can add a more immersive experience for users.
Sketching and ideation
Process
I started sketching ideas and wireframes for the website and started a GitHub repository to host the website and code. The basic wireframes were done on Figma and then coded using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I also created a sitemap to organize the pages and navigation. All the 3D assets were created using Blender 3D and Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. For the Augmented Reality experience, I used Google modelviewer and an Ar.js library by Lee-Stemkoski.

Iteration, user testing and feedback
After the first wireframe was completed, I coded the basic website and tested it with 3 users. The user's found the website easy to navigate but some felt the overall visual design could be better. After this I proceeded to iterate the wireframes and also create high-fidelity mockups.
